The Motor Development of Volleyball
Volleyball is a complicated game to learn for little ones. Their size and muscle development make the sport difficult if we don't adapt to plan for their success. Here are a few reasons, backed by the theory of Newell's Model, for the changes we have made.
Newell's Constraints Model
Newell’s (2012) constraints model examines three factors or constraints that interact to control our student's movement tasks. This theory is applied to describe the structure or behavior of the student (Individual Constraints), the environment in which the skill is performed (Environmental Constraints), and task that is being asked of them (Task Constraints).
